I've been humbled by....Lizzy

Well i attempted potty training today, not that i'm totally giving up already but wow what a rollercoaster we went through in one day. Starting out the morning an accident, but mostly in the kitchen, not bad clean up that way. Then she even went in the potty, and got a reward and big girl panties and a sticker for the chart, we even went outside with success and ran home quickly to sit on the toilet at the first sign she needed to go, however she didn't go then. After almost 3 hours of nothing, i knew it was coming, and finally all over the kitchen floor again, oh well not bad clean up. Then a diaper for the nap and that was it, she decided through tantrums and CRANKINESS that she was in charge and did not want to use the potty or not have a diaper on. So, for some strange reason this really affected me and put me in about the worst mood i've been in for a while. I guess after the sucess i thought she'd get it. But she only wanted the reward, which i wouldn't give her unless she went in the potty, she couldn't quite understand that which didn't help either of us. So i'm humbled that i can't do it in one day, like the pros, but maybe tomorrow.....

Potty training is certainly not for the weak and takes tons of patience! Good luck!

you are very brave lacey!...i quickly decided that i would put the potty training on hold with the twins that i had hallucinated about last sept...i have tried it a few times since, but i admire you and i can TOTALLY relate to how these kinds of situations put you in the worst moods! it sounds like you know what you are doing though, and maybe lizzy will be able to show the twins her big girl undies when we move back!

I remember feeling just like you! Brian would tell me not to stress, but potty training is all I could think about. How old is Lizzy? I tried when Beau was 2 and too many accidents. I waited about 3 more months and wah lah he was willing and doing it. Hang in there!!

Gotta love those headstrong kids! Potty training is definitely not one of the easiest things of parenthood! She'll get it...eventually! :)

Hi Lacey! Lizzy is SO cute! I love her little glasses, she looks like a smart little kid! Good luck with the potty training. I'm really not looking forward to that part of parenting. Maybe Nikko will magically potty train himself! We are in Utah right now. Jake has had a couple of offers, one in London. They fell through so we are just chillin and waiting! We will let you know if we go anywhere exciting!

I am so proud of you for trying:) That is the 1st step, and from there on out, it is anyone's guess as to how it will turn out. The good news is, I have yet to see a Kindergartener in diapers:) and she will eventually give in to the Porcelain King:)

Hey Lace- So to clear up the confusion, Ice Cream Barrels is Sam's blog. He write about all sorts of wacky things! So I started my own family blog, My True Loves. Once in a while he is nice and posts about our fam but mostly it is Sam's weirdo blog. DOn't tell him i said that:)
